COURSE INSTRUCTOR
Ms Jewel Wellborn is President of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development, Inc., an independent consulting company located in Littleton, Colorado. Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development, Inc. (HEDI) provides professional geologic, geophysical, and engineering technical support and services to the Oil, Gas, and Coal Industry.
SERVICES:
HEDI's expertise includes providing training and data management solutions for clients using a variety of industry software. Special expertise is available for Petra®, PetraSeis®, MJLogSleuth©, and numerous other programs. Geological and Geophysical Interpretation for exploration, development, production, and tertiary recovery is conducted for clients either in-house or at our corporate offices in the Denver Metropolitan area.
EXPERTISE:
As a highly successful “cross-trained” geologist/geophysicist, Ms. Wellborn has spent the last 30 years working in the oil, gas, and coal industries and has extensive experience in both domestic and international arenas. Her expertise in Rocky Mountain and Gulf Coast basins, as well as in conventional and unconventional reservoirs, brings a real life work-flow and understanding to the training she provides. She is considered an expert in the Petra®, PetraSeis®, SMT® and MJ LogSleuth® software programs, and conducts training on these software programs throughout North America and overseas.

CREDENTIALS:
Ms Wellborn received her BS in Geology from California State University in Los Angeles, and her MS in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines. Ms Wellborn is a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a Wyoming Professional Geologist. Ms. Wellborn is an active member of AAPG, SEG, RMAG, and DGS and is Past President of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists.
EXPERIENCE:
Over the course of her extensive career, she has served with Occidental Geothermal, Atlantic Richfield, Conoco, Shell CO2, and Ocean Energy, and has numerous other exploration and production companies as current clients. In various capacities, she has worked extensively in the oil, gas and coal basins of the North America (US and Canada), West Africa, Northern Russia, and China. Ms. Wellborn has worked for a number of companies, including Occidental Geothermal, Arco Coal, Conoco, Shell CO2 Company, and Ocean Energy before becoming President of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development, Inc., in 1999.
